Personal life and education

Mariano Moreno (born 6 April 1984) is a Spanish fashion designer based in Barcelona. He is best known for designing bridal, cocktail and Haute Couture dresses.

Moreno grew up next to the sea in a small town called Santa Catalina, in Murcia. He is the youngest of 5 siblings (the four oldest are girls). From his childhood he demonstrated an original creative talent and although he grew up surrounded by solid stones and quarries, since the family business was linked to architecture, he soon demonstrated his dynamism by studying engineering, design and worked in countries as diverse as Australia, Germany, France and Hong Kong.

 

Career

After almost 15 years of experience working in the world of fashion, among others, for global brands such as Givenchy, Lanvin, Chloe, Pronovias and Rosa Clara, Mariano finally decided to launch his solo project in 2023, with his eponymous brand dedicated to the creation of haute couture, cocktail, wedding dresses and accessories, based between the cities of Paris and Barcelona, and with points of sale and clients worldwide.

Mariano's goal is to empower women globally through disruptive and innovative creations. Therefore, the brand contributes to the revolution of the bridal industry offering a glimpse of how real women actually dress without giving up on the magic and fantasy of fashion. 

 

Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week

With his debut at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week in April 2024, Mariano Moreno not only presented a collection, but a declaration of intentions: bridal fashion does not have to be static, but rather a blank canvas where imagination and elegance converge to create unforgettable moments. 

Mariano Moreno stands out as a pioneer in redefining the concept of bridal elegance. Her bold vision and commitment to excellence make each bride a unique muse in her own modern fairy tale.

Under the name “Something Blue”, the brand unveils its Bridal collection, a bold reinvention of tradition that fuses the classic with the contemporary. Inspired by the iconic Klein blue, a hue that transcends time and space, the collection's silhouettes embrace femininity with a minimalist base that is intertwined with exquisite design details and maximalist volumes, thus setting the tone for bridal fashion in the world.

But the innovation doesn't stop there; The accessories in the collection offer versatility, allowing the bride to transform her look with a simple gesture. Earrings and pendants, the result of a collaboration with Swarovski, adorn this collection with 4-leaf clovers, an unequivocal symbol of the Mariano Moreno brand and bearers of unbreakable luck.

Brand collaborations

In 2024, a very special collaboration started with Swarovski, the Austrian brand well known for their high quality crystals. This capsule collection features Swarovski details in several pieces and in form of buttons, specially designed brooches and trims in necklines and seams.

In 2023 Moreno announced the first collaboration with Lladró, a Spanish company specialized in high-end ceramics. A jewelry collection was developed for the occasion and was the perfect accessory for Moreno's first Haute Couture collection Sotto Il Mare, with clear references to marine life and the oceans.

 

After many years dressing dreams and designing wedding dresses for the biggest bridal companies around the world, Mariano Moreno celebrates a new type of luxury with his own project, which includes unique Haute Couture pieces, bespoke dresses, prêt-à-porter and accessories.
